Colourscape Workshop
The Link Secondary School welcomed Colourscape to their school last week and invited pupils from The Link Primary School to join them. Visual sound artist, David Stevens, transformed a classroom into a creative workshop full of colour, light and sound.
During the workshops, pupils entered into the truly interactive sensory space and learnt about colour and light in the most practical way – by observation and discovery.
The children were captivated by touch activated sensors that made lights change colour, whilst others generated a range of sounds from a traditional orchestra to more experimental dins. They were delighted by a sensor that recorded their voices and turned words into beautiful musical arrangements.
The intensity of the colours changing coupled with the amazing soundtrack (created by the children) provided a truly creative space where pupils were happy to freely explore sound and movement. It was a truly unique experience.
